Dr. Shelley Walder

Dr. Shelley Walder joins the Skincanceronly team in January 2015.

Shelley grew up in Geelong and completed her medical degree in 1997.  She worked for 8 years in hospitals in Sydney, Geelong and Dublin, mainly in Emergency Medicine and related fields (Intensive Care, Anaesthetics, Paediatrics). 

Shelley was trained in skin cancer medicine by Prof. Dixon in 2007 and 2008, and worked at Skincanceronly in 2008 and 2009. 

It was at this time that she discovered her passion for diagnosing and treating skin cancers. 

Shelley continued to work in Sydney in a skin cancer clinic from 2010 until 2014, and is excited to be relocating to Geelong and commencing work at Skincanceronly once again.

Shelley is an Associate Fellow of the Australasian College of Cutaneous Oncology (AFACCO). Shelley's skills in skin cancer management include advanced dermoscopy diagnostic skills.

Surgical skills include excisions of skin cancers, biopsies, curettage and cryotherapy. Shelley has developed advanced skills in defect reconstruction following skin cancer excision, including skin flap closures such as A-T, O-S, O-Z, Rom flaps, bilobe/trilobe and rotation flaps.

Dr. Walder holds a fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.
